Rock Hudson (1925-1985 ), mort du SIDALe public fut frappé de stupeur quand l'acteur-star, archétype du séducteur hollywoodien, annonça qu'il était frappé par le fléau et fit du même coup son "coming out".
Cow-boy, play-boy, amuseur, jeune premier, Hudson marqua le cinéma des années 50/60 avec les films de Douglas Sirk dont il fut un interprète privilégié, tourna avec les plus grands cinéastes américains (dont Howard Hawks) et eut une fin de carrière plutôt tournée vers la comédie où son charme teinté d'ironie excellait.
